  1. Using Concatenate(cell 1, cell 2, ...celll n) function

  2. Using Concat(cell 1, cell 2, ...cell n) function

1. Using Concatenate(cell 1, cell 2, ...cell n)

  • It is a predefined excel function 

  • This function is used to merge /join multiple cells into single cells.

Syntax

=concatenate(cell 1, cell 2, cell 3, … cell n)

Where,

cell 1, cell 2, cell 3, … cell n are list of input cells.

2. Using Concat(cell 1, cell 2, ...cell n)

  • It is a latest predefined excel function 

  • Like Concatenate() function, this function is used to merge /join multiple cells into single cells.

Note

  • It is available in office 2019 or higher versions and office 365 online

Syntax

=concat(cell 1, cell 2, cell 3, … cell n)

Where,

cell 1, cell 2, cell 3, … cell n are list of input cells.

3. Using TextJoin(delimiter, ignore_empty, cell 1, cell 2, cell 3, ...cell n)

  • This is the predefined excel function available in excel 2019 or higher

  • This function can also be used to combine or merge multiple cells into a single cell using the delimiter option. The delimiter

  • can be any special character like space, comma, colon, semi-colon, dash, etc,...

Note

  • It is available in office 2019 or higher versions and office 365 online

Syntax

=Textjoin(delimiter, IGNORE_EMPTY, cell 1, cell 2, cell 3, … cell n)

Where,

  • delimiter can be special character like space, comma, colon, etc,

  • IGNORE_EMPTY can be either True or False. Here True ignores empty cells and False includes empty cells.

  • cell 1, cell 2, cell 3, … cell n are list of input cells.

4. Using & Operator

  • This operator is also used to combine multiple cells into single cell

  • It is an alternative to the built-in functions concatenate(), concat(), textjoin()

Syntax

cell 1 & " " & cell 2 & " " & cell 3 ...n
